Happy Halloween! Please have a safe one - that means NO driving and drinking or letting someone you know who's been drinking behind the wheel of the car. I want you to have fun, but I also want you around with us for a long time! We're going to have a great rest of the year planned for you and 2009 is going to be a lot of fun too!

I had a pleasant surprise today at lunch. I went to Oliver's delicatessen at 6602 A Delmonico Drive up by Cat Country for the first time and when I walked in they were playing Cat Country! Yeah! Thanks to Sharon for being so nice to talk to! A great place for lunch too if you get tired of the Subway thing...

Dodge ball on Saturday (where's the aspirins?) and I've been invited to a bunch of parties on Saturday but honestly, I'm not much for large parties so I think I'll keep it close to home and eat the left over candy from the night before. I think I'll only trick-or-treat at Wingnut's house! He has the best candy... I know because I had to help him carry all the candy bags from Wal-Mart to his car!!!

I have a new contest coming for the afternoon drive home - details forthcoming on the cat country web site!

Thanks for listening, we all appreciate it very much!

Thanks to The Texas Roadhouse and Kohl's for helping with the PJ Program. Lots of PJ's and books collected for the children, and a special thanks to our Cat Country listeners for donating too! We couldn't do it without you.

We had a real winner in our Million Dollar "Lee Brice" tailgate party! He's in the Army and his name is Jason. He won the contest where 37 other Citadel stations were also involved in (National Contest) and Cat Country had the Local Winner! Jason now gets a Big Screen TV - Grill - A Live performance with Lee brice and some other cool stuff and a chance at 1 million dollars! Thanks to Curb Records for helping us and its cool one of our troops gets the crack at 1 Million dollars! All he has to do is correctly guess the score on a football game of his choice... best of luck Jason!

I have a new contest coming on Monday where you can win free CD's! YeeHaw! Details on the way...

This is going to be a great weekend! A group of station people from Cat Country is going to the Grisly Rose to see Mark Chesnutt. I'm looking forward to seeing Mark as I haven't seen his show in a few years - since we lived in Beaumont, Texas at the same time. Tracy Byrd and Zona Jones is also a part of the circle of friends.

Then I get to go to Apex Sports and do a live Broadcat from 10a-12n this Saturday morning. Apex Sports is family owned and has been since the 1960's. A great place to buy your motorcycle and needs. I always love looking at all the cool stuff they have and I get to pass on some great deals to cat Country listeners!

Saturday night, I'll be hanging with the guys in the band I'm practicing with - there's still no name yet but we tried out a Drummer last night and I think we'll be able to move forward and be playing out soon. Some of the wives of the band guys are having a Mexican Dinner for the group of us - it should be a lot of fun. These are really great guys and very talented musicians - I have no idea why they want me around...

Sunday should be the day of rest! So I'm gonna hang out on Wingnut's sofa, watch football and make him order pizza!

Be sure to listen Monday for Free Music Monday. Rascall Flatts Greatest Hit's Volume 1 will be up for grabs

Wow! What a beautiful morning! 10/22/08. The first snow fall of the season, I love it! However I didn't like scraping ice off the windshield this morning! First, I had to find my ice scraper...
In all my excitement of seeing the first snow fall, I forgot that with snow comes ice scraping...
I was quickly reminded when I went outside to start my truck.

I know people who grew up here or have been here many, many years may not want to see snow yet... but having grown up in Arizona, the snow and winter is a magical season for me. It reminds me of the holiday season that is coming up on us rather quickly - these should be happy times filled with great memories or a great time to make new ones.

This will be my first full winter in Colorado Springs. I arrived here this past January so I missed a few months of the beginning of last years winter season.
Now the winter season is officially here, maybe you would like to share your special Chili and cornbread recipe's?

What a great weekend. I took the day with a friend and went to Woodland Park. The drive up was eye candy because the leaves are turning and dotting the landscape thus making our little community one of the most beautiful places on earth. Funny to think people actually vacation here year round and perhaps many of them would love to live here. I know I'm glad I do.

Recently I've been practicing with a local country band and the plan is to get out and start playing live here locally. I'll keep you posted on how its going and maybe you can make plans to come out and visit with us. The band doesn't have a name yet but if you have any cool suggestions please let me know. There are some really great players in this developing band.

Thanks to everyone who came and got free coffee from our friends at Dutch Bros Coffee new location. 301 East Colorado. Please stop in and get a great product from these super nice people and thanks for the visit when Wingnut and I were broadcattin live last Friday Morning.

I also stopped in over the weekend at one of my favorite places: "Wings Pizza and Things" on Briargate at the King Soopers shopping center. Rebbecca is one of the nicest people you'll meet and the food is the best! They catered one of our live concerts this past summer and they are great to work with. Rebbecca wants to see you for their happy hour after work sometime soon - maybe today!

This is Flu Shot season... just about all my friends and my co-workers here at the radio station have gotten one. I have never taken a flu shot... my thinking is if all my friends get a flu shot they won't get the flu and then they won't get me sick! Is that wrong?

We're working on a really cool Ski Trip Bus ride for you with my good friends at Golds Gym.
By the way, Golds Gym is the best bunch of people and the best Gym in the COS. I'm in there almost everyday. If you're thinking of getting started on a workout program or just getting back into it, please check out Golds. Tell Julie or Antoinne Jim West sent you. Get a jump on the New Year now!

I'm listening to the new Lee Ann Womack CD that just came in today. I love her voice and Cat Country is playing her new single "Last Call".

Thanks again for checking out my Blog - feel free to write comments - or call me on my show each weekday from 3p-7p.

Welcome to my first ever 'blog'. Some people ask; why blog? Well, a lot of times I don't have the chance to go into a lot of detail on subjects I touch on during my show on Cat Country from 3p-7p, so my hope is blogging will let me touch on a lot more items and will allow me to spend a little more time talking about some really cool stuff that happens on a daily basis around Cat Country and in the Springs.

At this writing, American Idol Kristy Lee Cook will not preform live at McCabes this Friday the 17th. Kristy Leee Cook has called in sick...

Please check out catcountry951.com often and see all the cool current events Cat Country is involved in.

This past weekend I had a personal tour guide take me to the Greg Francis Big Horn Sheep Habitat to see the big horn's but it was a little cold and windy this past Sunday so I think the sheep were hunkered down somewhere. I saw the Greg Francis Big Horn display that was commissioned by the same gentleman who did the art work you see at the COS airport.
Then there was Queens Canyon - what a breath taking view from the rim. Anyone can hike into the habitat but my tour guide had a key to the gate which made it nice considering how cold and windy it was last Sunday. By the way, Greg Francis did amazing work for Colorado Springs in preserving and working areas of the land and his visions will continue. I know he is missed by many but his work will last forever.

Every time I venture out into the Springs I see some of the most amazing scenery and because we live in an amazing place, the people that live here are a huge part as to why we are so lucky.
Truly, Cat Country listeners are becoming a big family too. I can't thank you enough for hanging with us!
